University of Toronto — Temerty Faculty of Medicine

The Temerty Medicine Mentorship Program pairs experienced alumni with current medical students, residents, and early-career physicians. Whether you are seeking guidance on choosing a specialty, navigating the transition to practice, or building leadership skills, our program connects you with alumni who have walked the same path.

Since its founding, the program has facilitated over 1,000 mentorship pairs, creating lasting professional relationships that benefit both mentors and mentees.

How It Works

Three simple steps to start your mentorship journey.

1. Sign Up

Create your profile on the Alumni Portal and indicate whether you would like to be a mentor, a mentee, or both. Share your specialty, interests, and goals.

2. Get Matched

Our team reviews profiles and matches participants based on specialty, career interests, location, and availability. You will receive your match within two weeks.

3. Connect

Meet with your mentor or mentee regularly — in person or virtually. We provide conversation guides, milestone check-ins, and ongoing support throughout the year.
